Sim Settlements kinda fills the gap between pre-made towns, and fully-player made towns, as I see it. Yeah, been through all that too, and there's still a place for that. Like parents having no more time to cook do the kids have no time to build something of their own. To me is this Sim Settlement mod the 'fast food'-version of settlement building. I've made my fingers bleed with the user interface, I've suffered piles of rubble, unscrappable trees and cars, and still did I fulfil my ideas, and not that of somebody else. Left them alone and have stopped back a couple times over the next few in-game days and have mused at the half-completed buildings. Already had an established settlement with some 30+ settlers, so I scrapped everything (was really early, and rather terrible effort at construction), relocated half to other settlements and started a town with 15 settlers - which took up most of the available space around the pond in the middle. I've started messing around with it at Starlight Drive In. There is still some player involvement, especially on the more advanced settings which require the player to maintain the town.Īs the mod title implies, you're basically the mayor, and lay out the town, whilst the settlers take care of themselves, and you sit back and oversee the town's development, ensuring it has everything it needs - essentially, SimCity if you've ever played it. That's the thing, it's not entirely self-driven by NPC's. I might as well buy me an aquarium the next time. All it then needs is a mod, which does the quests for you, too, and you've turned Fallout 4 into the most ludicrous screen saver ever. I like building stuff myself, so this mod is the most boring one I could think of - having NPCs doing it for me is ridiculous.
